In TBL, under the theme 'Textiles,' students of grade 3 learned about different techniques of making fabrics from fibers. Weaving is one of the techniques that has been practiced for thousands of years. It is used to make clothes, fishing nets, etc. Students witnessed the process through a video where an expert demonstrated weaving a piece of cloth. To give a better understanding of the process, an activity was conducted where students weaved their own mats using different colored paper strips. This task also helped the students in improving their observation skills. Besides, of course, getting an invaluable, hands-on- experience about the style and process of weaving fabrics. The activity also helped them in developing their fine motor skills. It was great to see that in the end, all the students were excited and proud of their creations.
