Crucial to science education is hands-on involvement: showing, not just telling; real experiments and field trips and not just virtual reality. Students of Grade 6 were given various opportunities to learn and experiment. Using safe and high quality science lab equipment, they tested the presence of carbohydrates which is found in the form of starch. Recalling the Body building foods they tested the presence of protein in the food stuff. They were also made aware of the test of presence of fat in any food material. Science lab experiments promote the development of scientific thinking in students. For fostering scientific learning in early childhood, active hands-on learning is very important. And this can best be achieved through science lab experiments.
